About Giclee PrintsThis work has been produced as a Signed and Numbered Limited Edition Giclee print. Giclee (pronounced "gee-clay"), from the French word meaning to "squirt" or "spurt," is a highly sophisticated print process that enables artists to produce limited, artist-controlled reproductions of their more expensive originals. Unlike cheaper commercial "prints" or "posters", which are produced by the thousands using inks which fade over time, Giclee's, which more accurately represent the original's intensity and accuracy of color, are produced in highly limited quantities under careful supervision by the artist. Giclee prints use archival grade papers and inks which are resistant to color changes and fading for upwards of 100 years. In fact, museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), Museum of Modern Art (San Francisco) and Museum of Contemporary Art (Los Angeles) have recognized the quality of works produced by this technology and have made giclee editions a permanent part of their collections. Linda personally supervised the production of this print, assuring its accuracy of color and quality. The edition, or number of prints created of this painting, is indicated on the bottom left side of the print. Your individual print is numbered; this number also appears on the bottom left of the print. As an example, a print labeled 125/250 means that it is the 125th print out of a limited edition of 250. Once Linda decides the number of prints for a limited edition, no more than that number of prints will EVER be sold. Most of Linda's editions are kept very small, most under 500. Linda's signature on the print assures that you've purchased a quality work of art. To properly care for any artwork, do not hang it in direct sunlight. Works of art on paper should be properly matted and framed. If your purchase is of an unframed print, be sure to request that your framing professional use only archival materials. Happenings
